Being Mom – Mothering

mom sitting with toddler girl and baby boyHi! Welcome to my website for mothers. My name is Karen Bongiorno. This is a picture of me holding my children when they were very young. I’ve just finished writing a guide book on mothering and about “Being Mom.”  I hope to get it published soon. In the meantime, I hope you’ll find helpful resources on my website and food for thought in my blog posts.

My book is a handbook for moms to use and refer to while raising children from birth till they go to college. It’s the book I wished I’d had when I was mothering my children. My book tells moms what’s coming up next; what they need to know, when they need to know it at each phase/stage of children’s growth.

My blog is written blending my experience and research. Although, I am not an expert,  I can tell you what to watch for, what to be concerned about and what not to worry about as you progress through each phase of mothering your child/children. I can tell you what it feels like to be mom from a mom you might meet in the neighborhood, on the playground or at a PTA meeting. I share practical advice, information and perspective I’ve gained from being mom. My blogs will be about current issues and concerns which affect our children and families.

My mission is to help you enjoy being mom by preparing you with information to make you feel confident in yourself as mom. As mothers, we can be confused or worried by all the new situations, concerns and circumstances we encounter, our expectations and the questions we don’t know to ask. I understand these and want to give you resources and encouragement to face them. I want you to feel good about your abilities and to realize your essential importance to your child/children and your family. Being Mom is special but tough. Embrace the special. Strive to enjoy more and worry less. My best to you and your family!

Write to me here; send me your questions and comments. Let me know how you are doing! 💗
